Looking for beautiful, natural body products that are priced well enough to use every day? It seems that the place to look these days is the sea! Marine-inspired beauty brands One With Nature and Depth both take natural luxury and value to a new level with their beautiful bath & body products. One With Nature makes hand wash, body wash, lotion and bar soap with a unique, restorative blend of shea butter and Dead Sea minerals (prized for their skin-nourishing beauty benefits). Scents in the line include Coconut Lime, Shea Butter, Lavender, Rose Petal and Dead Sea Mud (unscented). Incredibly, no product in the line is more than $9.99! Depth’s beauty line is even more extensive, with shampoo, conditioner and shave cream in addition to hand soap, body wash and lotion. Depth products are made with a blend of detoxifying red, green and brown algae that is also highly moisturizing and protecting to the skin. And their pretty royal blue and green packages pop in the shower or beside the sink. The essential oil blends that scent Depth products (Ocean Blossom, Mangrove Citrus, Sea Berry and my fave- Bay Coconut), which were designed by French perfumer Jean-Pierre Subrenat, are every bit as impressive as their pedigree. Again, nothing in the line is above $9.99! I’ve found my new natural beauty staples. Both One With Nature and Depth are available at Whole Foods. Writer :: Jolene Hart

Molly Castle’s ‘Health and Beauty from the Sea’ book published by Leslie Frewin (London)is good reading if one believes in natural skin care; perhaps more recent books may be available since the idea of using seaweed has become popular throughout the world.
