Does Pravana = Nirvana :: New Natraceuticals Hair Care

pravana

The founder of Pravana Natraceuticals, Steve Goddard, is a 30 year veteran of the hair industry and former CEO of Wella. Not content with being a mere hair stylist or business genius, Goddard believes that hairdressing has evolved and transcended the status quo, to encompass what needs to be a holistic approach to hair care that enhances both your inner and outer beauty. Enter Pravana Natraceuticals. A unique fusion of European sophistication, ancient Mayan botanicals and innovative American technology, the entire collection is infused with a proprietary blend of human hair keratin amino acids, silk amino acids, and hydrolyzed wheat protein to strenghten and fortify hair from the inside out. There are still a huge number of conventional hair care brands using sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulphate or sulphate based cleansing agents that are drying to the hair and can strip color. What Do Mens Changing Rooms, Flame Broiled Meat & Equality Have In Common?

worst-fragranceThey’re all listed in this year’s Fragrance Hall Of Fame as the worst, weirdest and most wonderful scents of 2008. Well, let’s just say maybe not so much wonderful as wonderous, that someone would even come up with these concepts, then put them into production believing there’s a market. If  your idea of hotness is the smell of a mens changing room at the end of a sports game, or, like the makers of this scent, you believe it’ll inspire your winning spirit, then by all means dig in. I’m not convinced that eau de jockstrap & sweat is going to go over with the ladies though. Similarly, there’s a spray on you can buy for only $4, launched  by Burger King, that will have you smelling like flame broiled meat in 2 secs flat. If your man is a junk food addict this might be useful, but watch out for neighborhood dogs if you’re brave enough to step outside your front door. There’s even a fragrance developed (a loosely applied term I’m sure of it), by a left-wing socialist party dubbed the “Essence Of Equality”. Some call it weird, some wonderful, but I’m simply going to call them all WRONG. Calling Mandy Aftel… we need you Mandy!! Writer :: Emma Pezzack – www.futurenatural.com

You Asked For It :: The Best Classic Reds For A Perfect Pout.

red_lipsFor girls who love makeup, the perfect red lipstick is as essential as air, water, fashion. Gwen Stefani always rocks the perfect pout. Red has graced some of the sexiest lips around and it’s actually a very forgiving color for anyone to wear if you find the right shade. Problem is, if you’ve ever mounted a search to find what should be a ubiquitous item – you’ll know as well as we do that finding the perfect shade is about as elusive as getting your hands on a sample from a designers collection, six months ahead of time. Near impossible. Sure, there are loads of reds if you don’t mind slathering your pout with petrochemicals & parabens and ingesting all that toxicity, but for you discerning ecoista out there who are savvy enough to know better, here’s our lineup of the best, classic, modern, fresh, organic & natural reds.

Keepin’ It Green On The Westside :: California Has A Plan.

greeniconMany criticisms have been aimed at California over the years, (and still are), for being too liberal, too leftist, too idealistic and the list goes on. But for all their initiatives on banning plastic bags through to their new plan to reduce toxic chemicals in products, we think they deserve a HUGE round of applause. Boldy going where most others fear to tread, Gov. Arnold Scwarzenegger issued a statement today that endorses the new EPA’s (Environmental Protection Agency) Final Green Chemistry recommendations to reduce and eliminate hazardous chemicals in our products. Schwarzenegger states, “These recommendations usher in a new era of how we look at household products – from children’s toys to the plastics we use in shampoo bottles. California’s approach takes into account what will be needed to implement a nation-leading green chemistry program, educating a green work force, expanding current pollution prevention programs, enhancing consumer product information and employing the use of scientists to evaluate chemicals and their suggested alternatives.” No doubt it’ll be a while before all of this gets the ‘green’ light, but already two important bi-partisan bills have been passed to get the ball rolling. You know what this means right? Among many other things, a serious move in the right direction to finally address issues of toxins in our beauty products & their packaging. About time. Get the Look :: Iconic & Timeless Makeup From Futurenatural.

redlipsIf the holidays aren’t the time to try a bold new look, I don’t know when is.  And nothing says confidence and beauty like a gorgeous red lip. Makeup artist Vincent Longo says of the look, “Red is sexy and sophisticated- it’s extremely feminine and a true classic.  The best part is that anyone can wear it.”  In the image above, the Hall/Jagger clan rock various shades perfectly… If you’ve always wanted to try it but have stopped short out of fear of looking like Bozo the Clown, here is the perfect combination to help you feel as though you went from real life to the red carpet.

100% Pure Fruit Pigment Lip Gloss: Sheer Cherry – This all-natural gloss is the main event of your look and will provide a lovely red color with beautiful shine.  Using a gloss will also help you achieve the look without being so dramatic that you can’t recognize yourself in the mirror.

Alima Satin Matte Eyeshadow & Brow Powder: Blonde/Brunette – Because everything else on your face should be light and simple, a well-groomed eyebrow is key.  Shape and fill in with this powder to define brows.

Sukicolor Pure Cream Stain: Sandstone – A soft pink blush will keep your look fresh and pretty.  This one blends nicely to give you a natural glow.

Sukicolor Rich Pigment Mascara: Black Velvet – Just because your lips are the focus, doesn’t mean you should neglect your eyes.  Curl lashes and coat twice to give them some volume and length.

Carol Alt Shares Her New RAW Essentials :: Get The Glow.

raw_essentials1First there was natural, then organic, then biodynamic, and now…. raw. Carol Alt not only is blessed with the kind of genes most of us would kill for – that gorgeous mass of hair, those astonishingly clear eyes, those incredible cheekbones, the hell body – she radiates a kind of glow that is a testament to eating raw, organic foods. Having been diagnosed with cancer, Carol became determined to find a healthier path & lifestyle after a hugely successful career as a supermodel in the nineties left her in burnout. As as an advocate and living example of  how energizing and healthful a raw lifestyle is, she decided to take her knowledge and apply it to a new skincare line based around the sample principles as raw food. Live, unprocessed and uncooked foods contain critical enzymes & nutrients that are destroyed when food is cooked. So, what you’ll find in her RAW Essentials skincare line are cold-pressed, live ingredients that are assimilated by the body to maximum effect. To begin with there are four products in the collection but we can see it’s only a matter of time before RAW Essentials catches on & we’ll be able to slather our entire bodies in it! Oh, bring on the day… Writer :: Emma Pezzack – www.futurenatural.com: the best organic beauty products in the world.

nvey_lustreEvery girl has a battery of tools at her disposal that help her look and feel like her best self. You know, the chic little black dress, the energy saving hair dryer, and the loveliest perfume. Oh, and the perfect lip gloss. If you’re one of those ladies who is still searching for that lip gloss, I’m here to tell you that you have finally met your match in Nvey Eco Organic Lip Lustre. Called lip lustre for the soft sheen it puts on your lips, this gloss gives your pucker some sparkle without screaming Las Vegas call girl. With 100% organic and natural ingredients, it delivers a light citrus scent and a perfect dose of moisture. No need to worry about your hair attaching itself to your lip gloss either; you’ll relish in a lip moisturizer that offers color and moisture, sans the stickiness of traditional glossies. I personally love “Seduce Me,” a your-lips-but-better shade of red that gives the perfect finishing touch to your look…. By Ashley Ford – www.futurenatural.com
