If there’s one must-have product you’re going to add to your beauty arsenal with the looming onlslaught of party & holiday season, make it a concealer. This will become your new BFF when it comes to keeping you looking fresh and radiant in the face of one too many martini’s, too many events to attend and weeks of sleep deprivation! This amazing new organic concealer from Afterglow acts on all levels to brighten under eye circles, cover skin issues and deflect attention away from where you don’t want it. Aloe is legendary for healing and soothing inflammation and is the ideal ingredient to address delicate under eye skin. This concealer covers beautifully but blends perfectly into skin’s natural texture so you still look like you, only better. It all began with nine lipsticks and nine gorgeous celebs including Eva Longoria, Angie Harmon, Evangeline Lily and more, plus a vision to create eco-friendly beauty that’s good for the planet. Since then, not only has the Cargo Plant Love collection won awards for its’ revolutionary biodegradable packaging but it’s also now a fully fledged eco-friendly makeup collection including 20 lipsticks, bronzer, eyeshadow, liners, lipgloss, mineral foundation and pressed powder. Certified by Ecocert this gorgeous green makeup line is available at exclusively at Sephora.
FOOTNOTE :: I just want to clarify that while I think the packaging for Plant Love is brilliant and deserves accolades, the ingredient decks are less than satisfactory. If you’re thinking of buying anything from the line, make sure you read the labels & are happy with what you’re buying. Quite a few items contain parabens among other things so buyer beware… Writer :: Emma Pezzack – www.futurenatural.com

I’m usually dragged into the colder months with resignation and resolve… a kind of grin and bear it mantra firmly planted in my psyche to get me through. I’ve decided that this year I need to change my paradigm to one that embraces the change of seasons and welcomes all the good things about chilly weather! So while it might seem like early days, with holiday season upon us it seems appropriate to start reviewing some gorgeous gift ideas that will keep your spirit warm & cosy over the next few months. I don’t know about you but I like to start accumulating stash well before the date so I’m not slammed with credit card bills that rival the budget deficit at the end of the year. This mini-kit from Face Boutique is one of the most beautiful gift ideas I’ve seen so far. With shampoo, conditioner, body wash & bath soak that all smell like fresh peaches – this not only looks cool, the scent makes you feel SUPER happy… yes, happy! In eight different, fun and fresh scents, these little deodorette’s from MBeze (seen at the front of the pic) are the perfect accoutrement for any girls purse, weekend away or overseas sojourn. Although I’m not particularly prone to armpit floods, I will admit that my underarms don’t smell like a garden of roses at the end of the day. Often with natural deodorants I need to refresh regularly and it’s a constant mission to; a) Find something that is small enough to fit in my bag or purse; b) Find something that doesn’t look so bad I’m embarassed to bring it out except in the privacy of a bathroom cubicle! Although I’m not advocating you whip them out it public, the cute design versus clinical deodorant stick means you can now freshen up in style whenever and wherever – and I found it works. My armpits still didn’t smell like roses by the end of the day but they did smell of nothing – even better! (more…)

In case you haven’t already heard about it, a little while ago Kate Hudson & David Babaii collaborated on a new hair care line called David Babaii for WildAid, of which there was much ado. In this case much ado about something, not nothing. We all know who Kate Hudson is but David Babaii, not so much. Babaii made his mark on the fashion world by creating hairstyles that are natural, unique, free-flowing, and full of an untamed spirit. Named by VOGUE as “the King of Curl”, he’s become a celebrity in his own right, with a client list that includes Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Gwyneth Paltrow. We’ve been waiting (patiently and not so patiently) to see how long it would take for truly biodegradable packaging to hit the markets. Sure the market has been working on bioplastic polymers for sometime but there are still issues with heat & cold tolerances that make usage limited. Enter Organic Essence! This is truly the ultimate in green packaging; using recycled paper pulp, soy inks, organic adhesive and even organic glaze on the outer surface. While the jars are not exactly our cup of tea in terms of design, we’re giving these guys major kudos for developing what is sure to revolutionize the way our organic & natural beauty products are bottled.
